on/off button
The on/off button has broken on my Dimension 4100. After repeated attempts to buy a new one through Dell, I am trying other sources. The customer support for home users has gone way downhill. Most of the Dell people with whom I spoke (after lengthy waits) have such heavy accents that communication is very difficult. I'm thinking the next pc won't be Dell.

I have ordered the part twice at the 1-800-372-3355 number and both times shipping was promised within a week but I have heard nothing either time and both times required much discussion with the Dell rep in order for them to understand which part I need. This is a fairly straightforward issue-would hate to try to work out a knotty tech problem with this level of support. The Dell business support, which is once again U.S. based, is still good; however, this is a home based issue. Will try above # once more and insist on speaking with a supervisor.eglescout67

If you supply me with an address, I'll send a pre-paid puffy envelope. To make sure about this part, it is a circuit card about 1.5" square with the on/off and restart buttons and lights, it attaches to the motherboard via a ribbon cable. Thanks and Merry Christmas to you.

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
If you are still within the warranty period you can email support@dell.com and have them replace it for you. It not, call the Dell Spare Parts Department at 1-800-372-3355.
