Power Options

Hi Everyone!
I just joined the forum, and this is my first post. I'm running a Dell 8200, with XP Home.  My problem is that I can not adjust my power options, either in "Display", or in "Power Options". I want to shut down my monitor, and my hard drive, without  logging off,  and let them cool down normally, but the options are not high lighted for my choice. (Options meaning, shut down monitor in 45 minutes, and hard drive in 1 hour, etc.) This has happened some time ago, so I have now decided to seek some expertise on the subject!
 
Can anyone "please" help!?

    I am assuming that the "display" and "power options" you are referring to is from with-in Windows operating system.  If so, I would suggest posting in the Software - Windows XP forum.  That would be a better forum in which to resolve problems with Windows' features.  You can click here for a direct link to that forum.
