Problems starting computer
I recently removed my Ethernet card and mistakingly did so while PC was ON, now PC comes on as far as Green light around power button but nothing comes up on monitor, what have I done and where do I need to begin to fix problem? HELP?

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
See if you can get into safe mode by pressing the F8 key while the system is booting up. Once in safe mode remove the driver for the Ethernet card.You can then restart and see if the system will go into Normal Mode.

See if the monitor is bad by unplugging it from the video card and plug the power directly into a wall outlet. Then turn the monitor on to see if a red,green and blue test patter appears.If not, the monitor may be defective.

- I'm having the same problem, my monitor stays black when ever I plug it into the Pc. The green light does not come on the monitor,, but when I unplug it from the pc it turns green, when I turn on the pc i hear a series of beeps, but nothing in the computer.. ????
- I am having the same issue with my optiplex GL...please advise! the system wont post at all, the power supply comes on and the power light turns green but the monitor light stays brown (never green) and a screen never comes up. yes the monitor is fine on other machines!

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
It very well could be the video card that is not working.If you have a video card that is in a pci or agp slot try and reseat it to see if that will resolve your issue. If you have onboard video you will need to contact support and possibly have the motherboard replaced.
