USB problem with Mouse and printer
The system is a 3 month Dell E520 desktop with Vista Home Premium. Since the beginning I have had sporadic problems with the mouse freezing up or the printer not working. Went through all Tech Support and they replaced the motherboard twice. It behaved for one week and the problem is back. I pull out the cable and put it into another USB port till it works again. Any ideas would be appreciated.

- Open Device Manager and expand list under USB. Double-click on each USB root hub, one at a time. Click Power Management tab and uncheck the box "allow PC to turn off this device..." Click OK to previous screen and repeat the process until you've done all root hubs. Then reboot.
Note: These instructions are based on XP. I presume they work similarly with Vista.
