Virtualization Support
I have a Dell Inspirion 530s with a Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 and it supports virtualization. The motherboard is a Dell 0RY007. I ran the Intel Processor ID Utility but it tells me my computer does not support virtualization. I contacted Intel and they told me the processor does support virtualization and to contact Dell. The operating system is Windows 7 Professional. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Already tried that no option in there to turn on or off VT.

Microsoft recently released an update for the XP mode virtualization. You may need to download an update to get your computer running properly:

I seen that post from Microsoft but I wanted to use the machine for testing purposes and I believe in order to run Hyper-V you need a machine that supports Inter-VT.

Run BIOS setup (F2 before Windows starts to load) and look for the CPU Features option.
Make sure Virtualization Technology is enabled.

I believe that patch just enables the XP Mode Virtualization without the VT on the chip since Microsoft recieved a lot of complaints because not everyone had a chip that supported hardware VT. Since the chip in question supports VT, it looks like Dell Disabled it for whatever reason and you will have to wait for them to update their bios...

The processor does not support hardware virtualization, but you can still do software, it just wont be as fast... Either way, if the processor doesn't have it, there is nothing Intel or Dell can do :-(
