I don't know if you fixed you issue, but perhaps I can help you.The solid yellow light means the system is getting correct power, however the system is not processing data. More then likely this is a post issue. There are many reasons a system wont post. However, more then likely its one of 3 things. #1 your memory is not seated in the slots correctly, or one stick is simply bad.#2 Its your motherboard. #3 the processor has gone bad. There are some trouble shooting steps you can try. First remove your memory, and go ahead and reseat just one. If it posts great! That stick is bad. If it doesn't try moving that one to another slot. Try all the slots one at a time and see if the system will post.If it wont post with that stick, try another one and rinse and repeat.  If you do all of this and it still wont post you have a bad processer or motherboard more then likely.

Sorry Dave, didnt know that. For whats its worth, it was the wrong service tag.  Well, I have an update on my computer.  I finally got time to open her up and really check all the connections.  I took the memory out, put it back in, changed slots and so forth.  Wiped it out and then used some canned air on it.  I then removed the power cord from the surge protector that sits beneth my monitor. I plugged it into my APC and then plugged into the back of the computer.  I hit the power button and waited for the fans to start up like the computer was going to take off in flight.  Never happened. It booted up perfectly and all the diagnostic lights were lit on the back.  So I'm hoping it is a bad surge protector. I have had it for 9 years and used it on 4 different computers.  Anyways, thanks for all your help guys. It's a good feeling to know that if you have a problem there is always someone on these forums that will help you out. Take care, Tony

Glad to hear you rig is running well. Let's continue to hope it will stay that way. 9 years on a surge protector might not be all that good of an idea. Most of them will start to lose effectiveness after 3 or 4, less if it suffers a lot of hits.

Alright guys, the problem came back.  I bought more memory for it hoping that I had a bad memory stick. That wasnt the problem.  I installed all 4 sticks of memory and a,b,c diagnostic is green. D light is yellow.  I uninstalled the memory and reinstalled it and it started working.  I dont know what the problem is.  I'm just gonna leave it on until the computer burns out. Any ideas, please let me know. Tony
