Alienware 15 Problem

Hello, I have a HUGE issue with DELL and more specifically with the Norwegian support.

I bought an Alienware 15 from the university (in Norway) and the product came in DOA, not being able to turn on.

Dell took 3 weeks to come and fix it (it is NBD 3 years)!!! They said they changed the mainboard while the power supply was already measured not to give any voltage (measures by the technicians of the university).

I got the laptop and the front lightFX lights are not working, the screen does strange noises when you press it (it is like it has not been fixed in place).

I sent a technical request to dell norway the day before yesterday and they still haven't answered me (NBD I said...). I am very frustrated. I have another alienware from Greece and when it had a problem DELL Greece immediatelly solved it.

I have never seen this type of support. This product is clearly of poor quality and one problem appears after the other. The initial problem was DOA and they did not even replace the complete unit!

Do something, or please give me the email of DELL US, I need to send them this because I am very unhappy with this situation!!!!

Hope someone from this forum and from DELL will answer my question faster than the actual support took to repair the laptop in the first place...

After more that one year later and with no answer from DELL (???) I return with another issue that has appeared on my perfect (!) and expensive Alienware 15 laptop. The webcam has been having problems and it never passes the Dell SupportAssist diagnostics NOR the ePSA test.

On the latter I get the following error: 2000-0244: 113852 validation, USB failed with error code 0xa.

I have downgraded and upgraded the BIOS and the problem is still there. I am VERY experienced with computer hardware and software and I can now conclude that this laptop is of VERY poor quality from day 1. Now I confirmed it.

I have many dell products, another Alienware 17 laptop from 2013 from Greece which is 1000% better that the Alienware 15 I got from Norway and still works like a charm.

I have kept the machine in mint condition and nevertheless everything is having an issue on it. First the motherboard from day 1, then the led cables inside, then the power of the touchpad and now the webcam. This is poor quality for which I paid over 2500 euros.

The service tag of the machine is: ***

I expect dell to solve this problem in the most appropriate manner because the machine is like new and does not stand up to my expectations. Me as a customer am getting more and more disappointed and until something happens I will continue to tell my experience with everyone because this has gotten me to the point!

    Dear ksfikas ,

I also encountered the problem of support, on my Alienware less than a year and became a dead battery does not work properly all the lights. After treatment in the service center I have replaced the battery and the motherboard, but the problem with the backlight deteriorated further, a laptop has become much warm, when you turn on the notebook lights twitches like crazy (which was not earlier), sometimes the laptop is turned off by itself during operation, or during periods of inactivity. My problem has not been resolved, and I am waiting for a response from support and service center for more than six months ... I have a feeling that I did not buy the Alienware, I bought a flash drive for 10 cents!!!

I would not have come back but today I experienced something that has made me very angry! The fourth (!!!) laptop motherboard replacement has resulted in me getting the initial (2nd) motherboard that was taken out of my system! How do I know that? Because I found the same error logs in the ePSA test from that date and with that problem!

Come on people!? You are trying to give the best possible support and the departments are so stiff (they constantly deny replacing the system) that do this types of mistakes. Of course after changing every possible motherboard we got back to the initial one! No motherboard left to test I assume!

Is someone responsible at dell to give me a convincing answer about that?

One more thing, maybe the motherboard was OK after all BUT, I saw it with my own eyes, when the technician took it out of the laptop, he literally threw it like a Frisbee into a box. This thing is again inside my system, more worn than before, waiting to develop any type of problem... Inexcusable for a company like DELL!!!
