Black Screen Warning:

I have a Inspiron 1501 about 2 years old. Yesterday I got a black screen with this warning,

Warning: The battery cannot be identified. This system will be unable to charge this battery.

Then it tell me I can do three things, continue, setup or menu. Can this be fixes and how.

I ran a little test on it, run the battery all the way down and it charge back up. So I did it again and it charge back up again. I don't understand, now how do I take the black screen off.    Jim

I have an Inspiron 1526, and this morning, I had this same error. I ran the on board systems test, and the system shut down on me. I then restarted, and hit F1, it has unexpectedly shut down 3 times in the past hour......have not had a problem with this until now. I have seen other threads saying something about the CPU heatsink fan being covered with dust......not sure if that is the cause or not.
