Can not get to setup or bios screen during computer startup
I received a Dell latitude 610 from the family of a friend who recently passed away but that I had not seen for a couple years.
When I start the PC it starts to boot up normally and then stops at a white administrator password box and as far as I know my friend is the only one who knew what the password was. Also even though after I press F2 for the set up screen or F12 for the one time boot screen and in both cases a message does come up that states that I will be entering those screens the white administrator password box comes up before the screens do.
What can I do?
And is this normal as I have never seen a password box come up to enter the set up or on time boot screens.
Please help any Ideas welcome.

Even if you can get a member of the family to transfer ownership to you, you'll be faced with a support call charge to have the password removed.
If you can change it yourself, a replacement mainboard will be cheaper than a support call:
