Go to SolutionCrackling / Interference on audio on Studio 1555 when wireless enabled
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit with DELL WIRELESS 1510 (802.11N), and with IDT High Def Audio CODEC on a Studio 1555 laptop
If I have wirless enabled then there is interference on all audio output (system sounds, itunes etc) and this applies to built in and external speakers. and also applies to streamed audio.
The interference is intermittent but seems to be every 3 - 5 seconds for a couple of seconds (but does vary). Playback also seems to be slowed down for the duration of the interference.
If I disable wireless the interference / crackling stops.
I've made sure the BIOS, Audio and WLAN drivers etc. are all up to date but the problem persists. The problem has been there since I received the laptop 12 days ago. I have also tried stopping anti-virus and firewall etc to see if this affects it but no result.
Anyone experienced similar problems / any resolution

but not only cani half spell
i have been having same trouble as you seem to be.
i am with you all the way on the whole trouble shoting.. but
i am new to "Dell's community forum and i was searching for answers. but i get more people asking similar questiong with similar troubles..
tell me SIRYUS where are we to go get the answers..
i know you are nto the GOD of answers but you sem literate enough to help a new trouble shooter
at least lead me to how to get hte answers...
are ther any?

oh i am still under warenty so i figure i could jsut let them figurei ti out.
sad to see so many with the similar troubles.
when i worked at DELL in the 90's it dint seem so diffacult to fix anything.
A tech 1 and i want ot throw my note book back and get one of the old inspirons.

I had a similar issue with my M6400, installing the chipset driver *then* the audio driver fixed it up. Turned out it was an issue with my Intel Northbridge handling DMA buffering.
