Error code 2000-0142???
There is yet another problem with my Dell product, it seems every time it's sent in it's never returned 100%. I got my Dell Insipron 5520 back from two recent repairs and for a while I was happy. Then again; the same slow speeds, random network disconnects, media check tests that take 5 minutes to complete before my laptop can boot, and now my hard drive has failed. This is really starting to annoy me. I don't download many 3rd party programs and if I do I make sure they are safe before hand. I scan my laptop often to avoid viruses and often clean out files to try and bring the speeds back up. My laptop was working fine last night until I tried to get back on it this morning. It loaded up to a black screen and a cursor that would flash and disappear if not moved. I when into boot settings (or setup) and ran a diagnostics test and it gave me error code 2000-0142, after a little research I discovered my hard drive failed. What am I supposed to do now? The poor performance of my Dell products is really pushing my over the fence to find a new make. Does this mean I will have to send my laptop in or will I have to purchase a brand new hard drive with my own money?
