Go to SolutionHelp me please!!Error Code: 2000-0142 , VALIDATION : 129619
Hi,
I bought my Dell INSPIRON 15-5547 1 month ago.
The problem I am facing is my window is not working at all and it keeps rebooting.
so I tried dell diagnostics test and I found that my HDD is not working properly.
I have Error Code: 2000-0142 , VALIDATION : 129619
and my service tag is D9SP602. I just used this laptop for like 1month..
should I buy new HDD for my own money? or it can be solved by factory warranty?
Can you tell me what should I do with my HDD?
please help me out.
Thank you in advance.

You will need to contact Dell and get a warranty replacement.
If the system is under warranty: call Dell with the exact error and they'll send a replacement drive.
If the system warranty has expired, you'll need two things:
1. A new 2.5" 9.5 or 7 mm SATA notebook drive
2. The recovery media you made when you received the system.

I also has same problem in laptop. Hello Duminda. If you have the error code 2000-0142 it means that the hard drive has failed a diagnostic test and is probably failing.
What can I do. The other posts in this thread cover this topic pretty thoroughly. They say to contact tech support if your laptop is still under warranty. If not, there is information about the kind of hard drive you need to buy, and information about installing Windows on a new hard drive. Is there some additional information you need?
The hard drive MAY NOT have failed but is just locked. I solved the same error in Windows 10 by cold booting 3 times and the third time it takes you to a diagnostic screen. Wait for it to do its stuff and finally you will see a screen that will have as one of the choices, "Advanced". Click that and then choose the one that says something like "Use command prompt". You will then be in a DOS screen. Type in "chkdsk /f c:" and that may clear it. Good luck
