HELP ME!!!
HI YEH DOES ANYONE NO WHERE I CAN GET A 256MB STICK OF RAM FOR MY INSPIRON 3500 I GOT IT OF EBAY FOR KID BUT IT ONLY HAS 64MB OF RAM IN IT AND IT HAS XP PRO ON IT AND IT IS VERY SLOW AND IT ONLY TAKES 256MB MAX SO DOES ANYONE NO WHERE I CAN GET SOME FROM FOR QUITE CHEAP I CAN GET SOME FOR £24 BUT DOES ANY ONE NO ANY CHEAPER PLACES

ok but i have bin searching the internet and i found a local store where i can get the right ram for the laptop and for a 256mb stick it is £24 gbp and i can get a 128mb for £17 gbpbut thankz anywaycraig

Rick, no one said that he couldn't put 256MB sticks in. It has been shown that the I3500 can use 2 x 256MB PC100 sticks.
leduke30 has already done this and reported back on his results HERE. So it seems the Max memory is actually 512MB even though the official stance is 256MB.

Can't tell from those specs. Call them. Ask if it's low density and how many chips per side. If they say 4 per side, it will NOT work. Or stop wasting your energy and get it from Crucial as was suggested. :smileywink:

the ram in it has 4 each side
why wont it work
but i will still ring them
and i cant get it form crucial cause i aint got no credit card

Actually, ejn63 did above. But I had forgotten that leduke30 had reported that.

Max RAM for the 3500 is 2X128 M low density PC100 soDIMMs.
