Missing Operating System
I was uninstalling Norton Antivirus 2003 when my laptop gave me the error " Can not write to drive" in a blue screen and then froze. When I restarted the laptop just after it finished the BIOS it says on a black screen "missing operating system" and then stops!
Is there a way of recovering the data on the hard drive. I also have a desktop if there is a way of linking them.
Can anyone help??

Try reseating the harddrive with the battery out and the ac power disconnected, then reconnect the ac power and try it. You harddrive may just not be making a solid connection.
