MONITOR PROBLEMS

Hi
 
I reinstall on a dimension 2400 but I could not get the monitor out of VGA.  I went into display, settings and advanced settings.  I picked the option "Do not use this device (disable)" thinking it would ignore the VGA settings.  Well my monitor now is totally blank.  The only time I can see it is when it boots up then my display is blank.  I tried starting it in safe mode but it doesn't help.  How do I reset my monitor?  Please help.

    Can you boot up into safe mode?

    No.  I've tried Safe Mode.  When I do this, the screen almost looks like you ask it to re-partition.  There are drives written down the entire screen.  Then I can do anything but turn it off and on again.  I also tried VGA but it doesn't work.

    hmm, sounds very much like you will have to do a repair install of XP.

    How do I reinstall when I can't see the monitor.  I set the computer to boot from CD drive but I can't see anything on the screen.  Any ideas?
