No LCD Display 600m

Hello All,

I wanted to post to the forum before replacing a LCD display on my 600m that I think is bad.

When the 600m is powered the LCD display will go blank.  Sometimes this occurs during the POST, sometime it happens when I'm in the BIOS, and sometimes it happens when WinXP is booting.  What's interesting is that evening though the LCD display appears to be blank, if I look closely at the LCD display I can see what should be displayed.  The images displayed are dynamic and is not a ghost image on the LCD.

I have tried increasing the backlighting using the Fn+UpArrow, increased the BIOS settings for backlighting to the max settings and nothing will get the image back to normal.

When I hook up an external display to the video port on the 600m, I do get the display which tells me that the video card is Ok.

I've also tried the Fn+F8 to switch between LCD/CRT/Both to see if the display will return to normal but this did not work.

I ran the PSA diagnostics and it reports no problems.  However, I do need to have the external CRT attached to see the PSA screens.

Anybody have any ideas before I replace the LCD?

Thanks...John
