Power button issue

I have a 1.5 yrs old Inspiron 5160. Everytime I power it on, I need to push down the power button and keep it pressed for 2+ seconds for computer to turn on. If I don't, the lights come on and the computer starts turning on, but then goes off immediately I lift my finger.

I was wondering if this can be fixed relatively easly (by replacing the power button, etc). Thanks.

I think you should try reseating the hinge cover of your laptop.Have you tried that?

Well as the power button is not responding all the times , or not able to work properly , first way to make the issue resolve is to reseat the Central Hinge cover as stated above , or If the system is under warranty just contact DELL Notebook support they will replace the Central Hinge cover..
