Hello...I can only second your problem..not offer a solution I'm afraid..

I get the excact same mssg. Apparently It's to do with the audio codec for the sound card on the motherboard (i think it's named IDT sound hardware)...I've checked a few forums and there seems to be other people getting this problem with Dell pc's running premier and other Adobe products...

 actually, after a long and tiring session with Dell chat tech support, the problem was solved. i went to the properties of the speakers in the Control panel -> Sound-> left click speakers -> properties. under the "Enhancements" tab i checked the "disable all enahncements" box, and the problem was solved. I also downloaded the latest version of the driver. i dunno which one of these solved it, but it works fine now.

Ah. Well done! Perhaps you can help me then. What driver excactly was it that you downloaded?

I tried disabling the enhancments as you did, but it made no difference.

Although I have a different model Dell (xps430), knowing what the driver was named that you updated, might point me in the right direction.

You'll need to select the appropriate drivers, but the latest audio drivers for your XPS 430 can be downloaded here :emotion-5:

 

I'd suggest you bookmark that page, so you can get back to it again, should you need to download other drivers, or check for driver updates :emotion-55:

I have this Problem too, it is no sound no noise nothing.

OK I have killedVista and installt Kanotix based of ubuntu. Bevor I never had problems with the hardware. But the studio 1735 wil not gif any sound.
