strange behaviour
I have a Inspiron 8100 system when I start the system it goes directly to the bios screen, i have to click ESC to continue.
When I logged in the rigth shift + c combination doesn't function and just gives a beep. the same with the F2 key and when typing to fast (or holding 2 or more keys at once)
Any idea how to fix this?

Thank you in advance for the link but,
I can't seem to reset the system with the ALT+F combination
When I perform a diagnostics test I can't pass the Key sequence test because my keys don't seem to respond.
Any more ideas??

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
Try updating the system BIOS with version A15, here. Once you have done so, the BIOS settings should be in their default confguration, but you can try to reset the BIOS using the [Alt] + [F] function.

I already tried the upgrade to A15, it didn't solve my problem and as I told before the combination ALT+F doesn't do anything...
When I executed the diagnostics program I saw that at the sequence key test other signals where send by the keyboard then there were expected. Perhaps there is something wrong with the keyboard controller although it passes the first test...
It's a mistery to me, I'm selling my laptop but would like the problem fixed because its a serious decline in price if it remains broken.
