Upgrading Latitude D620???

I have Latitude D620 running Windows XP Pro...

I would like to purchase another HD to use Acronis True Image to clone image copy of existing HD.

Machine currently has Hitachi SATA 7K100 100GB  0A25016 HTS721010G9SA00 HD.  Hitachi has replaced 7K100 model with 7K200.  I am thinking about updating to Western Digital Scorpio Black.  What do all of you think?

I would like to upgrade memory.

Machine currently has 1 slot containing 1GB DDR2 667MHz DIMM -- upgradable to 2 slots containing 2GB DDR2 667MHz DIMM(s) for total of 4GB.  Should I purchase another 1GB DDR2 DIMM or two 2GB DDR2 DIMM(s).   Any suggestions where to purchase them.

    Any 2.5" 9.5 mm SATA notebook drive will work just fine.  For XP, 2G is also sufficient - if you install 4G, you'll only see just over 3G anyway because of the chipset limitation.

    Crucial.com is the best source of guraranteed-compatible RAM.

    Unless you plan to swap the drives regularly, you don't need a second caddy.  You WILL need an external hard drive enclosure, if you plan to clone one drive directly to the other in preparation for the upgrade.

    Yes, I am planning to use Apricorn Drivewire USB 2.0 external HDD Adapter to clone HD.   

    Actually, I am thinking about performing a fresh install of Windows XP using Dell's recovery CD's and Microsoft's SP3 CD  on new HD -- Then cloning fresh software install on original HD.
