USB Mouse Issues
I have 4 new D600 systems that the USB mouse stops responding on. The only way to resolve is to reboot or unplug/replug the mouse.
There are no mouse drivers for this mouse and the touchpad driver was updated but the issue continues.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi,
I also had this problem on a D400 (with latetst BIOS > A07) when docked. What i did 1st was un-dock the laptop and only use the touchpad. Update the Notebook System Software, then re-boot. Then i added the latest Logitec mouse drivers. I then connected the USB mouse, tested all worked ok and shutdown. I then re-docked the laptop with the mouse connected to the docking station USB and it has been working fine since. The OS is Windows 2000 SP4.
Hope this helps.I have between 15 and 20 new Latitude D505 and all those with or without a docking station are having problems with the USB optical mouse supplied by Dell. It freezes up and the user has to plug it in a different USB port, then the problem happens again. It also freezes up when connected through the USB ports on the keyboard or on the Flat Panel monitor. I tried using a USB to PS/2 converter on the docking station but then it didn't even see the mouse at all (normal PS/2 mouse works fine).
I personally am using a wireless Kensington mouse and haven't had any problems.
Any suggestions?Thanks,Magali

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.
As a test, go into the mouse’s >properties>hardware tab>power management tab> and take the check off of “allow this device to bring system out of standby” then reboot.
