Very Unique problem with 600m

This is a weird problem. My Inspiron 600m touchpad has been acting up. I have replaced drivers, rolled back driver, uninstalled and more. Here is the situation: Mouse pointer would work erratic or sometimes not at all. The buttons on the touchpad always worked. I have found out the following. It only "acts up" when the AC cord is plugged in. As soon as I unplug it...and go to battery power the touchpad works fine. It gets even better. While at work I tried it again. This time the touchpad works fine on battery power or AC power. However back at the hotel I am staying at...and only at this hotel, the pointer fails to work correctly when on AC power...on battery it is fine. Any thoughts ??? I don;t know why it only happens at this Hotel. Standard 115VAC as far as I know.

i agree it's weird.  however, you've isolated it to that hotel's power outlet.  i'd say that while it is a standard outlet, that doesn't mean you're getting standard power.  i could fluxate in a myriad of ways.  that's why there are manufactures of filters for home entertainment systems like monster.  they make devices that look like surge protectors, but clean the power with capicitors, resistors, and such so that it is a constant voltage.  that's my only idea.
