I recently bought a R15 with a 4090 GPU. After I set it up it worked fine for about 3 days. Then I noticed after about 2 hours of gaming the computer would go to black screen, lose all inputs, and the GPU fan would max at 100% requiring hard reset. This happened only with gaming however, over the last week it has gotten worse to affecting initial start up to Windows. Everyday when I start it, it will immediately crash to black screen with fans at 100%. This happens about 7 or 8 times throughout the day requiring hard reset. I even had to retype this post because it crashed!! I maxed out most of the options on this computer. $5,000 for Dell's top of the line gaming computer and I can't even use it. This is the worst Dell computer I have ever bought and the most expensive. Anyone have any suggestions?

Did all of that prior, ran pre-boot diagnostics, everything checked out. Updated BIOS, AWCC and did a reset. Haven't tried a clean install yet but I doubt that is the problem. I think it has to be hardware.

Where is Product Key for Operating System?

I'm trying to re-install XP Home from the disk that came with my Inspiron 5150. One of the first things it asks for is the product key. I can't find one! The screen says it's at the bottom of the certificate of authenticity. Dell didn't send me a certificate of authenticity! The product key is nowhere on the envelope that the disk came in, the user manual, nor the packaging the whole thing came in.

It is normally on a sticker. Flip the computer over- it should be a multicolored sticker with a long alphanumeric string on it.

It's on the bottom of the system. If you're installing clean (format/install) and it's the Dell CD, it should not be asking for the certificate - it is not needed.

You're right, but I found I had to install XP by booting from the CD. Using the "Install XP" option by sticking the CD in the machine after it had booted with the old OS didn't work.

That is correct - an upgrade or install-over will require the product key (and it will then ask you to activate the copy, unlike a clean install).
