1704FP
I have had my 1704FPV replaced three times because of various problems, but when I reviewed my invoices, the actual descriptions have changed. As well as the specifications. For example, when I ordered it showed 1000:1 contrast ratio, but now the only 1704 on the website is the 1704FPT with 500:1 contrast ratio.
I fear that I may be getting a lesser quality monitor without knowing it. And yes, I know that contrast ratio isn't everything, but is an example.

The 1704FP has the 12 ms response time, oppose to the FPV with the 25 ms response time, which is slower, and prone to ghosting in games. So the FP is better for gaming, and I would want this one over the 25 ms monitor. Don't worry about the 1000:1 contrast. I have the 1703 FP, and it has the 500:1 contrast, and I am very pleased with it....I think you got a better deal with the FP monitor over the FPV. Just my opinion.
1 FP has the 300 CD Luminance....Better
FPV has the 280 CD Luminance
2 Viewing angle for the FP is 130 Vert and 140 Horiz
Viewing angle for the FPV is 178 Vert and 178 Horiz....Better
