2407WFP A03 questions

All,

I have a meeting on thursday with Product Group. I will be asking the following questions -

(1) Can you get us a detailed list of fixes for the A03?

(2) For those of us with A02 "still" experiencing problems (as pointed out in other threads), can you facilitate a return for a A03 or at the very least allow us to send in our A02's for a flash upgrade?

(3) The 1600x1200 fixed aspect (1:1) has NOT been fixed. The 1:1 option is still greyed out at 1600x1200. This is not good when you have an ATI graphic card like me.

(4) The inablity to set 1600x1200 mode into 4:3 is one thing, but having this monitor forget about 4:3 setting is even more annoying. Whenever I run older games or other apps that uses fixed resolutions (such as starcraft, diablo2 etc), I'll have to navigate through the menu and set the 4:3 mode, then when monitor switches back to widescreen resolution of desktop, it seems forget about such setting and makes me navigate the menu to set 4:3 every single time whenever I start those programs.

(5) Same problem with PIP, input always defaults to S-video no matter what, when I switch to different input (i.e. component) and then shuts pip off, when I turn pip back on it always resets back to s-video.

(6) Moving mouse over bright backgrounds leaves a shimmery yellow, pink or green trail a few pixels wide on the A02 and A03. This as NOT been fixed with A03.

(7) The whole screen shimmers when scrolling fast.

(8) Are the component inputs fixed?

(9) Are all further sales on this monitor the A 03 version or mixed A02, and A03, and how long will it take to implement a complete change over, so we won't have to send it back for a replacement ?

(10) Can all A02 version, not matter how long we had them, can be exchanged for the A03. 21 day return policy question

Another two questions should be asked Dell-ChrisM   ....

    1.  Are all further sales on this monitor the A 03 version or mixed A02, and A03, and how long will it take to implement a complete change over, so we won't have to send it back for a replacement  ?

    2.  Can all A02 version, not matter how long we had them, can be exchanged for the A03.  21 day return policy question

Yes..I'd like to echo the above post. There are many others that would like to hear about the 2007WFP's update as well as the 2407. Thanks!

Like soo many others, i also am debating to buy a 2407 (preffered option (if fixed!)) or something else.

I feel if dell fixed this monitor it would probly sell like no other lcd in history :P

I dont understand why Dell is procrastinating so much when they could be blowing their opposition out of the water.

I really want and like this lcd but all this drama is doing my head in.

News would be fantastic, prefferably good news too :P

    Thanks

I just received a 2407WFP A03 in the mail yesterday.  I set it up last night and had some issues in the setup process ,but everything seems to be up and working now.  I didn't spend much time with it (didn't unpack it till 11pm last night), but I do not notice any banding issues so far.  I have only seen desktop mode and haven't had a chance to use a game yet.

I'll post when I have a chance to spend some more time with it on any issues etc...

If there is something you specifically want me to look at on the A03, let me know and I can try to accomodate that.

    Cuthalu,

I have only seen evidence (pictures) of an A03 2407 on the forum. No one has come forward with an A03 2007.

    You mean a $ 390.00 sale on the 2007 FPW don't you  ?   http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productlisting.aspx?c=us&cat=snp&category_id=6198&cs=19&l=en&mnf=694&Page=productlisting.aspx

No $400 sale on the 2407 model, which is what we are all talking about here.

A week ago the same 2007 FPW went for $367.00 on sale.  They will be back ( Sale that is )

    Hi All,

Well I'm sure everyone is in the same boat as I....waiting for a quick response from Chris/Dell....esp because the $400 online discount offer ends today!!!! I've had a massive headache researching this monitor and to be honest the unfortunate negative press so far is making it look like Dell is simply discounting to move bad product....

My primary use for this monitor would be for the MAC thru DVI and component input for Xbox 360. Both uses have had so much bad feedback......

    Cheers.

This is the 20" thread http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=dim_monitor&message.id=62942&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
But, however, no absolute proof (pics) about it.
