2407WFP-HC Ghosting/Shadowing issues...
I recieved the monitor earlier this month, and right out of the box knew there was something a bit off. I noticed dark "after-images" from any light-colored objects that passed across a dark texture on my screen. Be it my white mouse cursor passing over a dark background, or a lightly-colored character running across a dark brown patch of dirt in-game, it does this weird ghosting effect except the ghost is black. It only shows up on non-black textures, but it's something that I have never seen before. It's almost like the pixels have to shift to black before they can shift to the new color. I almost refunded the monitor, but I love the size and that I can finally hitch up my Wii. I don't want to ditch this thing, I either want a solution/fix, or someone to definitively tell me "...get a replacement." I dropped em' to his settings (86 red, 85 green, 84 blue), still did it, dropped them down more and more, I'm now at 50 for all 3 and it still does it. I'm starting to get a bit worried about this... -Mobious-1590

Run this application to restore the monitor to the Factory Defaults. Note, this application may not work on all Dell monitors. If it does not work on yours, let me know.
* Click Here
* On the left by the disk icon, click sofMCCS
* Click Run
* If asked, click Run again
* Click OK
* Check I agree...
* Click Next
* Click Start
* Click OK
* From your desktop, double-click the softMCCS icon
* Scroll down to Preset operations
* By Restore factory defaults, click the green Restore arrow
* The display will black out and then return
* By Restore factory lumunace/contrast defaults, click the green Restore arrow
* By Restore factory color defaults, click the green Restore arrow
* Close the softMCCS box
* Click No to KEEP the changes if asked. If this does not correct the issue, perform the test below
Any difference in the issue?

All it did was make it less obvious by darkening everything up. It's still there, even after setting all the defaults back. -Mobious-1590

Yes, it does actually. I have video that I took of my XBox 360 (over VGA) and it does the same thing. I would have included it in the other video I made, but lack of sleep and lazyness prevented that. But yes, it does occur on the VGA input as well, and just as bad. Playing Gears of War is sickening when in an oddly lit room, and Bioshock is disgusting all over the place because of the dark setting you are in. BTW, if it helps, I'm using a High-Quality Psyclone cable to hook up my 360, not the Microsoft version. -Mobious-1590

I don't have it, I bought the high-quality instead. The quality was spectacular on my Viewsonic VX922, and I honestly have no reason to believe the Microsoft one would be any better. But, subject aside, the fact of the matter is that there is an issue with the DVI input on the monitor, which is attached to my PC, which will see the most usage. I would like to address that issue first, mainly because the issue with the both DVI and VGA appear to be exactly the same, which tells me it's the monitor, and not the cable. I have this same issue posted on multiple computer hardware forums, and all the responses I've gotten from other 2407WFP-HC owners is that my monitor is the only one that does this. -Mobious-1590

Get it replaced.
If you have a service tag number associated with your monitor, you may use Chat or Email support to setup the monitor exchange.
If you only have an Order number associated with the monitor, you must call in,
1-800-624-9896.
They will need the following information -
20 digit PPID number on back of monitor
Name, address, phone, email address
Order number
Issue

No he's not the only one. Replacing it is unnecessary, as he's going to get the same issue on the replacement unit as well. If he goes to the ardOCP forums, and goes to the 2407WFP-HC thread in the Displays subsection of the forum, he'll see that other people are also getting that issue. Some people haven't noticed it. But it is there on all the panels.
It's the 2407WFP-HC as a whole. It's something about either the video processor or the Panel used. Try dragging a window on the desktop with a Grey colored behind it. You'll see a greenish inverse trail.
It's on my 2407WFP-HC too, but I don't notice it as much. Only when I try looking for it.
