Running Windows XP pro and booted up workstation but the monitor E153FP was dark. Turned off/on monitor and I could see everything for about 5 seconds and it went dark again. Same thing happens every time I turn it off and on again. I can faintly see my desktop icons but too dark to do anything.
No one was playing with the brightness and the connections appear to be good.
Does it pass the Monitor STFC (Self Test Feature Check)?
* Turn off the monitor
* Plug the monitor power cord directly into the wall socket to remove any surge protectors or APCs from the troubleshooting equation
* Unplug the monitor video cable from the back of the computer
* Turn on the monitor
* The floating red/green/blue/white dialog box should appear on screen against a black background
Did what you asked... disconnected cable from the back of the PC.
Directly plugged in the monitor to the wall outlet. Test box appeared then a few seconds.. the screen when dark again. I could faintly see the box moving.
If under warranty, get it replaced. If you have a service tag number associated with your monitor, you may use
Chat or
Email support to setup the monitor exchange.
If you only have an Order number associated with the monitor, you must call in,
1-800-624-9896.
They will need the following information -
20 digit PPID number on back of monitor
Name, address, phone, email address
Order number
Issue
Troubleshooting done
