HELP! Just received second 2005fpw - at least 7 stuck pixels!!!
What is the problem! I paid for a working monitor. Why can't Dell send me a monitor that is not defective? I think my first monitor is better...will a moderator or someone who knows respond to: Can I keep the first one I received and send the second back? When I ordered the customer service guy told me if I did that they would charge for both!!! I didn't argue hoping that the second monitor would be better than the first. Is this true?
Welcome to the club. I am sending my 3rd one back, pixels and severe backlight problems.

Send both back....Take a deap breath, and wait awhile to order a new monitor down the road...Your 21 day return policy started on the original invoice date of the first monitor and time is now ticking down. Just tell Dell that you want to cancel the hole deal.
I called to return my monitor as well. I was told that I had to pay for shipping back to Dell. Not only that, I could not get my 25% off coupon back either. Is that quite sorry of Dell or what?
I've decided to ask for an exchange and keep doing it until I get a perfect monitor.
Sent back 2 monitors and refused delivery on a 3rd one due to this pixel problem. Not 1-2 or 3, we're talking 7-10 dead pixels for each replacement, not to mention backlight problems on all. Refunded the first purchase since I was able to reorder it for almost $100 less at $549. This one is the worst of all and in the process of replacing this one as well. All monitors are REV A00 batch number is 0T6130
Unfortunate, coming from a PERFECT 1703FP monitor :smileysad::smileymad:

You cannot keep doing this until you get a good monitor.. Your 21 day return policy will run out and then Dell will send you a refurbished monitor from then on....
Do what I just did: cancel your orders. Mine hasn't even shipped yet and I've canceled the order. Those coupons really made it a tempting deal but all these horror stories are RIDICULOUS! I don't think I could bear the stress of getting a bad monitor, returning it, getting another bad one, returning it... :(
There are no refub 2005fpws...yet. Anything you receive will be new. BTW I just received my (third!!!) fpw last night and it was terrible. Stuck pixels everywhere...looks like it has acne! Anybody know if a new rev of these will be released any time soon? For now I am sticking with the very first one I received...two stuck pixels and the backlight issue. I am not really sure what to do at this point..I paid good money for this monitor and I think I should be able to receive a quality product. Dell has been really helpfull by sending me the two exchange monitors I requested but they are both faulty as well. Does anyone think Dell will let me hang onto the monitor I have until a new rev is released and then exchange it for me? Any Mod care to comment?
contact Jesse he claims to be looking into the issue...im also worried about the 21 day echange time running out esp w/ the slow delivery around holiday season. dell should replace all our defective monitors once the new fixed revision comes out.
Well, my 21 days were up last week but Dell has continued to send me monitors since I reported the original problem within my 21 day time. I am going to hold onto this one for a few days and see what Dell decides to do about this issue... I do not see any use requesting another one until some decision or statement has been made by Dell.
In my experience, Dell seldom makes a 'statement' about issues like this, even blatant problems. A good example would be the SB Live fiasco the Dimension owners were going through. Dell tweaks a Creative soundcard for use in their computers, Creative does not support that revision of the card, and Dell stops developing drivers for it. The result... heavy usage of the card (read: gaming) tends to result in a driver crash, p16x.sys, blue-screening the whole system. Dell's statement? Basically a "oh well, deal with it."
Quality will likely improve with new revisions.. A01 should be better than A00.. but I wouldn't look for a great announcement to the fact. :/
