P2815Q and Mac Mini

Needs help.

I purchased Dell P2815Q, and plan to use it with my mac mini. I connected the monitor using mini-dp to dp cable, and kept getting "No HDMI(MHL) Cable" error message. Nothing shows up and the monitor eventually goes into power save mode.

What should I do?

    Be sure that you plugged the cable into #2 in the picture.
    macmini thunderbolt out --> Dell mDP to DP cable --> P2815Q DP in

    * Open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display)
    * Go to Input Source
    * Choose DisplayPort
    * Exit the Menu

    apple computers do not have the standardized mDP (Mini DisplayPort). They use the apple proprietary thunderbolt port. The most I can say is that the apple proprietary thunderbolt port is hit or miss connecting to our monitors simply using our mDP to DP cable. Some apple users have mentioned that using a thunderbolt to DP adapter has had some success.
