Unfortunately this monitor does not work as advertised. My Dell computer which is loaded with Windows 8 does not recognize the monitor as a touchscreen even though I have downloaded and installed the current drivers for this monitor, all it does is act like a standard flatscreen monitor. Even Dell's own troubleshooter does not recognize the monitor as being attached to the computer. I tried talking to Dell's customer service a number of times but they were of no help Instead they referred me to Microsoft. I was on the phone for over an hour trying to get this monitor to work with Windows 8 and still no luck. They referred me to a level number two tech which is investigating why it will not work with Windows 8 on a Dell computer. So for almost $700 all I have is a standard flatscreen monitor. So does anybody have any ideas why a Dell monitor will not work on a Dell computer?

Update, Fixed it -
It looks like I get to answer my own problem.  After doing some more research on the Dell support site I found a webpage "Features of the S2340T monitor" that says in real small print at the bottom of the page In the notes section "in order for the touchscreen to work you need USB upstream cable that is connected from the monitor to the computer".  It would be nice if they would put this on the installation sheet instead of just using pictures which does not always tell the whole story.  Now that I have it working it is an outstanding monitor.  Also you would think that Dell customer service over in India would double checked on how the monitor is installed with the proper cables. So I hope this helps anybody else who has the same problem that I have had trying to connect up a touchscreen monitor from Dell.
