I just got rid of my Acer monitors. I will order SP2208 right now. I want to make sure If I feed 16:9 hdmi from my direcTV reciever Will it show 16:9 (black bars on top and bottom) or like my previous Acer stretches vertically and distorts the image? I read the online manual and it is not clear. If not which Dell monitor does not distort 16:9 image? I can output 720P or 1080i.

In another words will scaling function work?

If I understood correctly it will scale only 720?

"Scaling Ratio is not available if the resolution of video signal is greater than 1680x1050. However, 16:9 and Fill will be available for video timing."
