U3415W, HDMI affected by DP's dynamic contrast

Hi all,

I'm having an issue with my monitor for sometime now which I have found no solution to yet. My PC is connected to U3415W via DP with preset mode at "standard" which is ideal for my use. This mode doesn't allow for any changes to 'dynamic contrast'. When I switched to HDMI gaming with my console, after a moment when the PC enters screensaver mode, it auto-dims the monitor even though I'm not viewing with DP. My HDMI mode's preset is "Gaming" with dynamic contrast off. Had been pretty frustrating for me all this while till I figured the above out. My PC's on Win8.1, AMD R9 290. Window's power plan is on high-performance with display's adaptive brightness set to off. Shouldn't HDMI mode in Gaming preset not be affected by DP's mode in Standard preset since I'm not presently used DP? Any help/input appreciated for this otherwise, great monitor.

Thanks!

The DP is still engaged internally even though you are viewing the HDMI.  There is no way to turn that functionality off, short of simply disconnecting the DP cable from the monitor. So when the computer tells the monitor to engage the screensaver, the monitor still reacts internally. If you are viewing via HDMI, the PC screensaver setting serves no purpose. Just turn it off before switching over to HDMI. Then turn it back on when using DP.

Ok, turning off the screensaver before switching to HDMI is better than changing DP's preset.

Not exactly my preferred solution but well it works. Would have thought each input is independent of each other.
