Configuring new Library with Networker 7.2.1

Hello,

After configuring partitions in an Autochanger, does Networker (7.2.1) see the different partitions?

For example, if an Autochanger has three partitions created, does Networker lists three Autochangers in its Autochangers tab?

It should see each partition as if it is a seperate jukebox.

Of course I am assuming you have taken care of the necessary zoning for the library to be visible to your server/storage nodes. Is this a hypothetical question or does it relate to a real problem?

Hello David, thanks for your input. Although we do not have problem as such, it does relate to our Production environment.

The Library (ADIC Scalar i2000) is attached to one of the two Storage Nodes we have. As I'm not at the datacentre, I'm assuming it is SCSI attached. Is there any way of confirming this through NW? The master Networker host can see the Autochanger in the relevant tab.

I would like to delete and create a partition (using the ADIC management screen) with a new name and more slots and devices. Therefore, trying to figure out how these changes will need to be reflected in Networker.

I am not entirely sure about just creating partition.

However if you have a box wirth two drives (say) and you configure the box as two library then NW should be able to detect two seperate jukeboxes.

I assume you won't touch existing partition. Therefore new partition would be created and you could present it to the systems as new library.

If you delete existing one, already used by NW, first delete that one from NW along with devices, create it in ADIC GUI and then configure it via NW GUI or CLI.

Sounds like a good plan. Thanks again for input.
