Try this:
  • Install OS and NetWorker
  • Get latest bootstrap information and tape with latest bootstrap
  • Configure one device, where you can read the tape with the latest bootstrap
  • call mmrecov
  • place tape with bootstrap in the configured device
  • provide mmrecov with required information, ie. saveset ID, file number etc.
  • after mmrecov did the job, stop networker, delete /nsr/res,
move /nsr/res.R to /nsr/res and start networker again.

There you are.

If it was a real desaster, you will have to scann tapes and AFD, which were written after the last bootstrap.

Depends on OS, but we use simple approach - ignite the box and restore latest backup on top of it.

Take a savegrp -O backup of all clients on old server, install Networker on new server and restore using mmrecov & nsrck -L7.
