Failed indexes

I have two adv file devices on a dedicated storage node. I changed them yesterday from Default pool to a custom pool. Now my indexes are not saving. I have tapes in the attached library in default pool. Why doesn't it write to those if it can't write to the custom pool?

Error:
* storagenode:index save: error, no matching devices for save of client `backupserver'; check storage nodes, devices or pools
* storagenode:index save: Cannot open save session with backupserver

I have a feeling I am missing something real simple here.

You will need to have either:
    a) tape custom pool available on server for index and bootstrap backup or
    b) separate index and bootstrap backup

What you are missing is that index and bootstrap belong to server and they get backed up on server and will require same pool for which data save was done.

So I need one tape for Index and bootstrap?

Or I could create an adv_file or file-type device on the NSRserver to store indexes and bootstrap? That's probably better huh?

Both will do - if you have enough disk on server you could use file device, but you will need to stage it later so you have 2 operations instead of one (but it is faster of course). You could also set no index save to skip those index backups for clients writing to storage node, but then you must manually save their index.

Is NW server in group ? if isn´t put the NW server in group and index and bootstrap will be save in the right pool.
