The LDAP authentication is for user management in NMC. How is this affecting your backup infrastructure?

Backups by default are scheduled so there is no impact on backup run at all (unless your environment uses ldap for name resolution, but that's another problem).  So in essence, you simply can't monitor them.

You can monitor things from CLI by checking logs and if you have any Linux/UNIX box you could also use nsrwatch.

Obviously, there is a simple and quick way described in docs where you can reset current auth configuration and get it to legacy auth method.  But since NMC is just fron-end GUI, you can also install it on any machine and use it as quick workaround to monitor/manage your system again.
