NDMP with Precommand

Hi All,

I had existing the NDMP client but I'd like to use the savepnpc for pre-cmd and post-cmd on same client.

Can it use NDMP and savepnpc on same client?.
What I can set it up?.

Thank.

    have a look into esg57139:
Goal: Is there a way to add pre- and post- processing for NDMP backups, similar to using savepnpc?

Goal: pre- and post-processing for NDMP

    Fact: Auspex NS3010

    Fact: NDMP Client Connections

Symptom: Cannot add pre- and post-processing for NDMP backups

Fix: No, there is currently no way to add pre- and post-processing for NDMP backups.

So I belive you have to script that functionality on your own.

    Hi Suwan:

Unfortunately, NO. savepnpc is NOT supported with NDMP. Keep in mind that NDMP is a protocol that makes a tcp/ip connection to the client and then calls the native backup utility that is part of the client's OS to perform the backup.

savepnpc is a NetWorker "feature" that requires NetWorker client side software to operate. There is no NW software installed on a NAS filer. This is also why you cannot do things like use directives OR archiving.

Not the answer you wanted I am sure, but hope it helps.

    Regards,
