Does anyone have a list of current Networker licences and what they are used for? I currently have a 256 slot autochanger licence and am moving to a clariion disk library, but I am told to ditch this in favour of a NETWORKER VIRTUAL TAPE LIBRARY xxTB CAPACITY ADDON licence. I dont need more than 256 virtual tapes so why do I need this? It seems to be a new licence on Networker 7.3.x, certainly this didnt exist 12 months ago! Ideally I need a list of all possible Networker licences and what they are used for (and here's another one, how does the Tier licensing in SQL module relate to cpu's in the server. I can guess but where is it documented?)
I am wokring on a case for a customer to used Clariion VTL. We are creating around 64 slots and Legato has configured BOM only for Autochanger license for 1-64 slots. The entire thing is an EMC solution. I need to recheck if there is a problem there.
For SQL & other modules, Tier1 is single processor, Tier2 is dual processor, Tier3 is Quad processor and Tier4 is more than 4 processors. Documentation should be there with Legato pre-sales people.
I am also keen to understand if they have asked for the AddOn Licenses based on capacity for using the disk library, are they refering to using the raw capacity of the disk library or the expected compressed capacity. They talk of 3:1 compression.
