scanner command and problems

i am having serious issues

according to "saveset recover" the required volumes to recover a saveset are 2 tapes. i don't want the whole savset recovered but i want to merge the database so i can perform a restore of a file from 2 years ago.

but when i run scanner on the tape it doesn't show up that saveset?

do i need to rewind the tape to the beginning?

if so how?

Can you mark this thread as answered and assign points if willing?

Just run it... if you don't have available NetWorker will tell you.

i know saveset, path, server, everything.

but its no longer browsable in the user program

    shall i use nsrck -L 7 -t "12/25/05" uksv6105

is that going to be easier than running the actual restore path through the command line?

If you see that you need 2 volumes, why are you scanning them? You can do ssid restore and restore just file if you not exactly the path (be aware that this thing is case sensitive). If you want to do browsable recovery can you restore simply index?

how do i know if index is availible?

sorry i'm not that good at networker yet!

in saveset recover in the user program it says all the savesets are "retrievable" and will tell me what tapes i need
