Virtual Client Connection

What does this new license Virtual Client Connection mean and how is it different from VCB backups. We need only one client connection for each VCB proxy and can backup multiple VMs from there as well. So what is this new liense?

Currently, VCB allows file system backups only, not applications, right?

New license goes against single ESX server and does not allocate any of client connections to any virtual clients. What is also nice, is that NW will know what is virtual clients per ESX so modules should be now licensed as per ESX server and not single virtual machines.

When you use the VCB backups, you only need a regular client connection. VCB backs up all the VMs and you can recover them as well.

What is different here and which approach is better?

Modules can be licensed per ESX also? I thought client connections for virtual machines would use the virtual client connection license, but modules would be licensed per virtual machine as it was before.

About money, if we think only about client connections (no modules), you have to have at least 4 virtual machines on the esx server, because the virtual client connection license is about 4 times the price of the regular client connection.

Yes and the document says VCC would work for other Virtualization technologies as well i.e. Solaris Zones, Hypervisor V etc.

I am just wondering what happens to online module backups through VCB?
