What printer are you trying to connect the Dell Wireless Printer Adapter 3300 to?

Read the customer reviews for this item. It's possible that the users didn't know how to install the adapter with an ethernet cable to the wireless router or their home network wasn't working correctly or it just doesn't work right. Seems expensive when you can buy a wireless all in one printer-scanner like my Artisan 700 from Epson for $150. Works great on my 4 computer network. Make sure your computers can see each other and share printers and files on your network.

Yes to the wireless settings. It has TKIP security. B and G mode indicated via the Dell Wireless WLAN card utility (site monitor tab). I did a diagnostic using the WLAN card utility and everything passed ok. I am on Channel 1. ... I have powered down and back several times, but the 3300 comes and goes. I went a whole day with no problem than it was quirky today. Now it's back on.  ... My printer is the Dell 1700n laser.

My only suggestions would be to try channel 11.

Do you have any 2.4gh cordless phones? The operate on the same frequencies as the wireless routers do.

If using DSL, Do you have DSL Filters on everything, phone, answering machine, faxes, etc..., except the DSL Modem, itself?

I have a cable modem, no DSL. I do have a 2.4 Ghz phone, but I unplugged it and still problems. But, I live in an apartment bldg. Others might have 2.4 ghz phones. Also, my site monitor shows I'm picking up at least 20 other wireless networks in the area. Can I do anything about other people's networks and/or phones?

There is nothing you can do about the other people that have 2.4gh cordless phones. As long as you're using WPA-PSK(TKIP) Security(Personal) mixed mode, and channels 1, 6 or 11 ONLY. I noticed there are problems using other channels.

Before you try switching channels,which you do not have to do anything to the 3300, I have a setting for you to try.

Go to device manager(right click my computer, left click properties, left click hardware, left click device manager). Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.

If you really want a cordless phone, I'd get a 5gh cordless. You can try swithching channels and/or the location of your wireless router to a central location in your residence.

I have my 3300 about 3ft away from my wireless router.As for the cable, I feel you'd get a better answer asking this in the Dell Printers Forum. "The llynster" will see the post and give you a very correct answer. He seems well educate with the laser printers.

Your suggestions seem to be helping. I was wondering. The wireless print adapter 3300 sits right next to the router. Is there a way to cable the printer (Dell 1700n) directly into a LAN input in the back of the router? That would eliminate need for the 3300.

Ilynster helped greatly. I solved this problem by using an RJ45 cable from my Dell 1700n to an open LAN port on the Dell 2350 router. This eliminated the 3300.
