n wireless

I have a 1500 n wireless card in my inspiron 9400 laptop, and just got a d-link dir 625 n-router. after downloading the newest drivers for my card and newest firmware for the router, it still has me logging onto mode g and not n. anyone here that can help?

Do you have the card and the router set to N mode and not mixed?

are you sure already download/update correct firmware for your router. i think your d-link router it's not support if you change the G firmware. coz the type of your d-link only support for N.

i'm still confused on y i'm not getting n speeds, the router works for my 2 roommates and says mode n for them in the router panel but mode g for me. i did update to the newest fireware and i'm pretty sure the 1500 card should work for n, if it doesn't then i think dell owes me my money back cause i upgraded it after the service rep recommended it

Read this I think the prob is that the 1500 is dual band and the router is not so it falls back to a slower speed..
