problems
i have a dimention 8100 running win me and a new hp dv8000 series laptop i got a fast ethernet switch i want to network them together with out the internet just want to play games but every thing i try does not work not very good at networking can any one tel me a easy way to connect them and make them work with what i have.

There are two ways of doing it :
1. connect both the computers with the Ethernet cable without the Swtich and allow the File and Print sharing, and client for microsoft network.
2. Connect using the switch and just allow the firewall settings to pass through
