USB patch file?

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a Dell desktop and separately purchased a Netgear WN111v2 USB wireless adapter.  I've been getting a problem with the connection dropping sometimes and having to restart Windows to get it to work again, and getting a blue screen error BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER.  I talked to Netgear and they told me:

"2) Go to the Device Manager tab under Hardware.
3) Click on Universal Serial Bus controllers
4) Then check whether the Intel R 82801FB/FBM USB Universal Host Controller with 265B OR 265c is listed.

If it is not there then we would request you to have a word with your system vendor and ask them install the USB patch file in your system and then check the status."

There list of Universal serial bus controllers in my device manager has "Generic USB hub" x5, "Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller", "Standard OpenHCD Host Controller", "USB Composite Device", "USB Mass storage device" x2, and "USB Root Hub" x2.

Does anyone know what the USB patch file the Netgear tech referred to is, and where I can find it?

I've tried getting into the online Dell support, but it says my warranty has expired (despite the fact that I bought the system a month ago, and that clicking on their warranty info button shows I have nearly 3 years left on the warranty).  I changed my default product and service tag from my old Dell system (whose warranty has expired) but this didn't help - if anyone knows a solution to that to I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!
