What chipsets do the Dell wireless minicards use?

I am looking at buying something, just haven't settled yet. But, I am primarily a Linux user.. and Linux has issues with several brands/models of wireless chips. so, I need to know, what chipsets are in these minicard devices:

1390
1395
1490
1505

thanks

This is a user to user forum.  If you want a Dell Technician to answer your question, you will have to call Dell Tech Support.

Okay,  I did that and I was told in so many words that ..

Dell do occasionally change chipsets on the various Dell-branded minicards.  So, I better not depend upon any specific Linux-supported chipset, say an Atheros or a Ralink on any of their minicards.

The best way to go with a wireless minicard is to choose one of the Intel models [ 3945 or 4965 ] which has dependable Linux support and to avoid any of the four models that I mentioned originally: 1390, 1395, 1490 or 1505.
