Which modem do you suggest?

I have a dell demension 8400 that has a standard 56 pci data/fax modem in it that aslo gets caller id. It works fine but I need to add or replace it with one that has voice also so that I can record and play messages via answering serice for mail boxes.

Which would you suggest I get at either newegg.com or say ebay, that will give me data/fax/voice and have caller id ? looking for the best deal of course.. any ideas?

If you want the best, get a US Robotics data/fax/voice modem.  It will come with the needed telephone software.

I've never had a problem w/US Robotics.  If the one you have is a year old hand-me down, perhaps it's bad?

No its not bad it just does not support caller ID and the sound isnt the best. no caller id means "useless" and "just another modem"
