I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 with a Truemobile 1300 wireless card running Windows XP pro. I recently bought a new 802.11g Linksys router and configured its network as WEP secured with a 26-ch network key. Although my Inspiron "sees" this network, and reports it as a secured available network, it will not receive the signal and only picks up a non-secure signal from a neighbor. When I insert the network key in the appropriate field, I do not get an error message, but I do not receive the signal from my router either. I note that when I enter the network key tab in the utility, there is a hidden 8-ch code there by default. I replace it with my 26-ch key, but get no response. I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
