What is a "linksys 2.4 router"?  If this is a wireless router, then do you have a cable or dsl modem that can connect to the router by ethernet?  Do you have at least on computer that can connect to the router by ethernet so that you can configure the wireless connection?  Have you read the user's manual that comes with the router?

I had the same question a few days ago.

I sent an email to Linksys.

    Here's my email to Linksys:

I have the following at present:
Motorola cable modem (supplied by ISP)
    Linksys Router BEFSR41
    Linksys Hub EFAH05W
Two (2) PCs connected to the Hub via Cat 5 cables

I have the following on order and wish to use it wireless:
Dell Inspiron 600M with Windows XP Professional
Includes Wireless Networking Card Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 Internal
    Wireless (802.11 b/g, 54Mbps)

Please advise what additional Linksys device(s) I need to add the laptop
to my system as a wireless PC.

    Here's their reply:

You just need a wireless access point model number WAP54G. This will extend your existing network wirelessly.

Less configuration needed because the device has wireless enable by default.

I found the WAP54G on sale at www.Buy.com

    $60 after $10 mail-in rebate.

BTW, in a follow-on email to Linksys, asking where do I connect the WAP54G, they told me to connect it to the Hub.

You may want to send them an emailasking for details pertinent to your situation.

    They have great response time.

    Hope this helps.
