There is NO OVERCLOCK on ANY Optiplex period end. 

Even got Core 2 Quad Q9400 to 3.4Ghz on stock BIOS, stock voltage, no CPU mod, stock cooling. You are wrong, SpeedStep, and you always have been. Please leave the forums before you embarrass yourself even further. I have proven you wrong multiple times. You said 3010 does not support E3 1240, but it does.

the question is about bios overclocking ,your screenshot show software overclocking in windows.

3010 is still a good pc

i have added i7-3770 ,2 x 8gb ram and trying to add nvme ssd on pcie 16x slot, as boot drive.

try to modify the BIOS. in the AMI edit utility there is option for BCLK on H77 chipset. I can give you mod BIOS, but you flash at your own risk.

Use Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit to get BIOS rom file and post link to file.

You can't say I'm wrong and then tell people to modify the Bios without going over step by step what you did.

There are no overclock settings in the Dell Bios.

There are no end user bios modification utilities.

Dell does not use AMI Bios in the 3010.

The screen shot shown is Optiplex 755 not 3010.

seems to me the 755 poster is full  of beans,, speedstep told you the truth. but the OP was open ended,

to overclock you need:

a processor that allows it, (intel charges extra for this, lots, as warranty insurance (after you burn it up)

bios settings must be there and support the CPU if changed out.

as you learned DELL did not support, this, actions, why would they?, and then burn the chip up and void the warranty.?  Intel sells core i7-nnnnX the X has a warranty cost, for obvious reasons.

The PC is  business grade PC not a gamers toy, (toys are great but not this PC)

Some of the other people here think that even with this being a non ami bios you cant still use the ami flashing tool to flash a non ami bios to it. You easily can, or if you can find it, you can flash a custom bios that unlocks features that were thought to not exist on any of the H61/H71 chipset motherboards. I recently had to do something similar in a socket 1150 9020 dell oem in order to use a BGA to LGA converted i7 4980HQ, and was able to get a modest overclock of 4.3ghz all core, at stock voltage and a bump to the tdp from 47w to 105w, which the pc I modded is actually more recent than the 3010 but uses essentially the same bios, as I have fiddled with both of them in the past. It is more than possible to overclock on the 3010, but is more of a common place in Russia where the used pc market is flourishing, and they get these computer motherboards and cpus for next to nothing.

I overclocked a Dell 755 with a Intel Q9650 Quad rated at 3 GHz to 3.5 GHz easily. It did require a heat sink upgrade and additional fans to compensate the heat, as this CPU doesn't need to exceed 75 degrees C for very long. But it was very easy.  I'm about to overclock a Dell Optiplex 3010 exactly the same way.
