Optiplex XE2, mounting hardware below 5.25" bays

Hi.

Anybody know of a part that allows you to mount a 3,5 inch drive or 2,5" drive just below the 5,25" bays?

Before anyone asks. I have have removed the original bays in the bottom because of mounting a large GPU.

    Hi @Gromit83 ,

It's a 3.5" bay originally designed for floppy drive or card reader on mini tower desktop. Any 3.5" hard drive or generic 2.5" to 3.5" harddisk mount should work.

I have same question. This is a mystery on my 7010 & 9010 MiniTowers. This "bay" opening is a bit too narrow & the mounting holes don't align to a 3.5" hard drive. I am not sure if the bay aligns to a 3.5" floppy. I am a bit suspect if this is a feature on the external drive cage that simply isn't used in the 7010 & 9010 series Optiplexs?

That chassis was used for different models besides Optiplex's.  Bmcowboy is right in the assessment that it was used for card readers.  I think some older Inspiron's had that and the Vostro 470.
